B20 2016 Host Committee, B20 Coalition hold symposium in Paris
The B20 2016 Host Committee and the B20 Coalition held a symposium in Paris on June 1.
Yu Ping, Sherpa of B20 China and deputy head of the host committee, briefed attendees on the latest developments in preparation for the upcoming B20 China, preliminary policy recommendations and related publicity plans.
The meeting gathered leaders and representatives from The Canadian Chamber of Commerce (CCC), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (USCC), the French Business Federation (MEDEF), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the National Confederation of Industry of Brazil (CNI), the Industrial Union Argentina (UIA), the Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria), the Turkey Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) and the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
Discussions were held on the drafting of the B20 policy paper and related publicity plans, alongside issues concerning preparations for the B20 Summit.
The B20 Coalition brings together business associations from G20 economies and advocates on behalf of about 6.8 million companies.
Perrin Beatty, Chair of the B20 Coalition and also President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, said his organization will continue to assist China in hosting the B20, encourage relevant companies to participate in the B20’s various taskforces, and is willing to help publicize policies of the B20 through its networks.
